The AMEN Break & its History (+ Why do Zero-G etc own this "more" than The Winstons?)

Q/Zero-G? What have they got to do with this??

A/ They make sample discs/sets, they sell the AMEN break on probably every disc they sell in 1 format or another or not, YET if you use 'their' sample/copy of The Winstons - Amen Brother 'loop' you get sued, So why don't The Winstons get paid royalties on this?
Find out.... Copyright, what a load of ***beep***

Video explains "the world's most important 6-sec drum loop" known as the 'Amen' Loop or Break. The most sampled loop in the world and the writers (The Winstons - Amen Brother B side of the 1969 7" grammy winning single 'Colour Him Father' ) oddly haven't (yet?) received a penny from royalty money. NB Sadly the drummer passed away last year (2006).
Want to know where NWA - Straight Outta Compton's beats came from? sh1t just about everything on this blog haha...

Aaah Yes the amen sample!! I was hit in the face (as to speak) when I heard this sample on a compilation: breaks and beats, nice origina;, it's worth pretty much if you got the original single LP

Amazing how interesting watching a turntable is with such interesting history :)

I'd like a 'major' program company to pick this up and make a full documentary... wish i had the know how to redo this vrsn, same guy but add video clips, stills etc...

But amazing 'story' of a druim loop...
How many records have been made with it i wonder? and how much money!

IF each person who has used it gave?? £1/$1 to the Winston family they wo0uld probably be insanely rich... i'm glad they didn't clamp it down with copyright and i'm suprised their record label didn't more so...

Odd, very odd... i'd like to ask them why... alas not possible re 1 brother.

btw I think i like this more than anyone visiting here, i've made the largest comment haha

Would be nice to have some more feed back from people... i'll try and remove that annoying word verification, MAYBE that will help.. i doubt :)

Thanks for taking 5 mins to say something in the comments, it does encourage me to post more... the less comments i seem to lay off ... when people give feed back i start posting 5+ shares a day, at the moment, i post about the same as comments (1 a week) :)

I think its time to say this in an actual post. 'Give me a reason to share, show me yer love' hehe well maybe just a cheers in the comments is good and REQUESTS!! damn it..
